American Bald Eagles can be found through out the US, including here in sw Colorado. There is a pair living above Totten Reservoir near Cortez, Colorado, that I’ve been lucky enough to photograph a few times.
The first time I saw them, one was harassing a mob of mudhens on a cold, windy day in May. It would make a lazy dive, hoping to catch a unsuspecting coot or other bird. I don’t think it was a successful hunt that day. I came back a few days later, and got some pics of the pair, lounging on a telephone pole.
I for one am happy the American Bald Eagle is one of our symbols of freedom here in America!
